Alsace is a unique winemaking region in large part due to its historically perilous location on the French side of the German border. Over the years their culture, food and wine has been influenced from both sides, and even influences from Switzerland, the birthplace of Francois Cattin, the first of his family to settle in Alsace and begin winemaking for the forthcoming 11 generations. Now led by Jacques Cattin Jr., the winery produces classic wines of both Germanic and French influence. This is an approachable skin contact wine with notes of candied orange peel, lemon zest, peach skin and a kiss of notable Alsatian sweetness to finish.
