Domaine de Lescure 'A L'avenir…' Négrette 2020

Southwest France is home to a multitude of villages and sub-regions that specialize in once common grapes that are now nearly lost to inexorable march of time. In the region of Fronton outside of Toulouse, winemakers preserve and champion the grape Négrette for their reds and rosés. Known for making fruity, fresh and aromatic wines meant to drink young, it’s sometimes referred to locally as “the Beaujolais of Toulouse.” L’avenir translates to ‘the future’ and showcases a smoked cherry palate and dried red rose petals followed by supple tannins on its layered,  bright and evolving finish, especially when served with the slightest chill.
