It’s impossible to overstate the importance of Marcel Lapierre in terms of influencing winemaking in Beaujolais, France, or even the world. As one of the original ‘Gang of Four’ nearly half a century ago, Marcel helped to spearhead more natural, organic winemaking in an era when chemical fertilizers and pesticides were heavily relied upon. Most of the grapes for this cuvée are sourced from young vines in the Morgon cru and are intentionally made into an easy drinking, fruity red with lower alcohol. This wine goes through semi-carbonic maceration which makes it reminiscent of Beaujolais nouveau!
