Terrasses d’Eole, meaning Terraces of the God of Wind, has been in the Saurel family for generations. A large windmill was added to the property in 2003, utilizing the intense winds across the region to power the winery, and adding to the sustainability of their organic farm. Stephane Saurel names each bottle after the various winds that pass through the region. This Ventoux Blanc, called ‘L’Aguieloun’ in France, is named after a cold wind that blows from the northeast. A blend of Clairette and Ugni Blanc, this crisp and quaffable wine delivers soft aromatics and a ripe palate of melon and golden apples with floral notes to balance. This is easy drinking on its own, but has enough weight and texture to enjoy with food.
