Creating her first vintage in 2004 at the age of 21, Arianna’s rise to prominence has been meteoric. By using natural techniques in the vineyard and winery, yet not adhering to traditional barrel aging requirements of the region for the SP68, she has created a wine that is very traditional yet extraordinarily original. Named for the road going past her house on the vineyard, SP68 is a blend of two traditional Sicilian varietals - Zibibbo, more widely known as Muscat of Alexandria, and the more esoteric, Albanello. The grape skins and juice macerate together for two weeks providing a more golden color along with aromas of orange blossom and sage. Complex flavors of yellow peach, honey, and citrus give way to a refreshing finish.
