Étienne Daulny a peculiar winemaker, in that he focuses on making his flagship Sancerre as a blend of various holdings rather than making single vineyard wines. He sources grapes from some of the appellation’s most revered old vines planted on various soil types. The result is a compelling reflection of some of the best terroir in the region and a beautiful representation of Sancerre as a whole. Mostly vinified in stainless steel, a small percentage is aged in old oak which gives the wine a bit more texture and body. Chalky mineral texture anchors the bright grapefruit, green apple, and fresh herbs with a delicate floral bouquet.
