The complex gears and levers inside an antique clock leave behind small grooves, or witness marks, as the pendulum swings back and forth. These marks are important in guiding a clocksmith during repair or restoration. Witness Mark Wines are inspired by this concept with a wine’s color, aroma, and flavor acting as the witness marks that drive the winemaker’s creative process. The Chardonnay is aged mostly in stainless steel with about 30% matured in new French oak which provides soft notes of vanilla and toasted spices. Tropical fruit and citrus aromas lead to a palate of stone fruit, apple, and pear with vibrant acidity to balance the creamy richness.
