Günther-Chéreau is a family affair vineyard covering three different estates managed by mother and daughter, Veronique and Aurore. Situated in the Loire Valley, these ladies focus on beautifully fresh and balanced whites from their vines at the ‘corner’ of the Sèvre and Maine rivers. During the vilification process, the wine sits on its lees for a short amount of time to give a rounder mouthfeel than often associated with wines from this region. This incarnation of Piquepoul, or Folle Blanche, leaps forward with tart Granny Smith apple and citrus zest. A strong salty backbone yet balanced palate makes for a versatile wine.
