Founded in 1930 by their grandfather, the operation at Venica is truly a family affair with brothers Gianni and Giorgio managing the vineyards and the winery respectively. From the 1970s when they took over from their father to today, the brothers have continually reinvested in the estate to ensure that the wines they produce are fresh, food friendly, but most importantly, delicious. Just a stone’s throw away from the Slovenian border, they grow not only regional specialties but international grapes that they have found excel in their plots - like this Friulano Tocai, a transplant from the Alps. Aromas of parmesan rind and lemon peel meet a palate of peaches, golden apples, fall spices, and a weighty but crisp texture.
