Dhondt-Grellet 'Roc Solare' Extra Brut NV

For years Eric Dhondt and Edith Grellet would sell off their grapes to negociants. However, in 1986 they decided to switch their focus to not only farming but producing Champagne from their estate fruit across the Côtes des Blancs. Today their son, Adrien, has taken over the winemaking and is quickly bringing his family’s wines to another level by slowly increasing the range of Champagnes produced by isolating their holding across the villages of Cramant and Cuis. Fruit for ‘Roc Solare’ comes from meticulously selected plots in the flinty soils of the Côte de Sezannais. Apples, citrus fruit, and hazelnut leap from the glass, and are followed by a dry, yet creamy palate that shows a richness from the addition of mature reserve wine.
