The ‘Bigarò’ by Elio Perrone is proof that serious winemakers can make fun wines that should simply be enjoyed and not contemplated. Stephano calls this fanciful blend ‘Bigarò’, meaning a mix of colors, as he crafts this wine from a white grape, Moscato, and a red grape, Brachetto. Delicately sweet and effervescent, the Bigarò shows all the best characters of top-notch Moscato and Brachetto and so much more. Aromas of rose petals, white flowers and a hint of citrus peel lead to flavors of raspberries and peaches and a refreshingly sweet, frizzante finish. Respected by wine critics as “one of Italy’s finest dessert wines” and by neophytes as “Sonofabiscuit that’s delicious!” alike.
