Domaine Chapel is one of the younger producers in Beaujolais, with 2016 as their first vintage. Husband and wife team, David and Michele, met in 2013 while working at acclaimed Morgon estate Domaine Lapierre. A couple of years later they relocated from Brooklyn, New York to Beaujolais to begin making their own wine. They organically farm a small 7 acres of vines in the crus of Fleurie and Chiroubles with 2018 being the first vintage produced from these parcels. The Chiroubles parcel produces grapes with thick skins and small berries, resulting in a darker wine with rich fruit character. Wild cherries, strawberries, and blueberries take the stage along with hints of pepper, savory herbs, and smoky tones.
