Katherine's Notes:

The Ruttenstock family has been producing Gruner Veltliner for four generations.Their 42 acres of vineyards are in the Danube Valley in Austria, not far from the borders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. With notes of citrus zest, wet stone, and white pepper, this mineral driven Gruner is a perfect spring wine with its slight acidic finish. While this wine is quite versatile, I would pair it with schnitzel, an Austrian fried pork dish that is absolutely delicious.

What's Cooking?

Traditional wiener schnitzel

What do I like to drink?

I really enjoy wines that truly quench my thirst. I tend to gravitate towards lighter wines such as Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio, and sparkling wines. I often gravitate towards wines that have some fruit and acidic elements, although I do sometimes love to switch it up to something a bit more creamy and full-bodied.
