Terres Blondes Gamay 2020

This gem of a Gamay comes to us from Jean-Sébastien Marionnet, son of famed Loire winemaker Henry Marionnet. Though he still makes wine under the old family name, he created this new ‘Terres Blondes’ label with famed wine importer Martine’s Wines to provide delicious and affordable wines from fruit sourced from other stellar growers in Touraine. The grapes are fermented as whole clusters starting with carbonic maceration to keep the red cherry fruit and raspberry fruit popping. It’s light and fresh enough to chill to take on a picnic but finishes with a slight earthiness for a more serious dinner wine.
