Stefanie and Eduard Tscheppe took over this old Burgenland estate in 2007 and have farmed it biodynamically ever since, working without chemicals and intervening as little as possible in the cellar. Their wines are famously presented as members of one extended family, each with its own face and personality. ‘Theodora’ is the lively, independent daughter: a blend of Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling from 35 year old vines. Fermented and aged in used large barrels, it is bottled unfined, unfiltered and without added sulfur. This is natural wine made with real direction and intention - bright, energetic and lightly textured, with citrus, orchard fruit, herbs and a gently savory finish.
