Founded in 2000 by a group of experienced growers and entrepreneurs, Costers del Priorat produces expressive wines that favor elegance over raw power. The vineyards are organically farmed and hand-harvested, with a focus on preserving the region’s rugged, slate-driven terroir. ‘Pissarres’ is a blend of Garnacha and Samsó (Carignan) from steep, rocky, high-elevation vineyards planted to old vines. Aged 12 months in a mix of new and two-year-old French oak, it offers a bold, rich profile with underlying freshness. Aromas of dried rose petals, cocoa, and dark fruit lead into a silky, medium-bodied palate with notes of plum, ripe black cherry, leather, and dark chocolate, finishing with spicy tannins.
