Visintini is a small producer in the Friuli region in Northeastern Italy. The almost 70-acre sibling-run farm, established in 1884, has grown to become part of the Gramogliano bio-district - putting the health of the land first and using traditional farming to produce natural and terroir-driven wines from their 35-year-old hillside vineyards. Franconia is the local name for Blaufränkisch, a red grape usually associated more wines from Austrian rather than Italy. This wine is kept entirely in cement tank from fermentation all the way through maturation to bottling. Dark red and blue fruit show ripe tones belying the light body with aromatic purple flowers and baking spices rounding out the finish.
