Region: Canary Islands, Spain
Grape: Malvasia
Drinks Best: Now
Mel's Notes:
Like most wines produced on Lanzarote, one of the 7 islands that makes up the Canary Islands, Malvasia grapes are used to make this dry white wine. Bright yet balanced with citrus flavors like loquat and grilled lemon, porous black volcanic soils lend it’s linear minerality with a salty finish.
What's Cooking?
Grilled Halibut with mango salsa and vegetables
What do I like to drink?
I drink a wide variety of wines. I enjoy the journey wine takes you on. I do tend to lean towards the bright, funky, refreshing, higher acid wines- I love tart flavors! My taste buds change seasonally with the weather. In the cooler months, I gravitate towards floral, juicy reds.
