Grape(s):St. Laurent Winemaker: Roland Steindorfer Drinks Best: Now - 5 Years
For generations the Steindorfer family has been producing quality wines on the eastern bank of Lake Neusiedl– an area of Burgenland famously known for two things – dessert wine and red wine. Their grapes are always handpicked and vinified with the utmost veracity resulting in complex, elaborate, and unique wines. This special ‘Reserve’ cuvée is made entirely from St. Laurent, a varietal named after St. Laurence’s Day – the day when the grapes begin to change into their dark, blackish-purple, color. Aromas of intense ripe berries are balanced out by a rich, fruity palate of black raspberry and dark plums with structure and black pepper spice on the finish.
