The mother and daughter team of Helma and Marlies Müller-Grossmann farm 25 acres of vineyards in the Kremstal less than an hours drive west of Vinena up the Danube river. With this cuvée, they have epitomized what this region is known for – wine that show a beautiful balance of weight and freshness. Sourced from in and around the regionally famed Satzen vineyard, this site is topped with a heavy layer of loess soils – windblown silt – that is a perfect home for Austrian benchmark varietal. This medium-bodied wine shows ripe apple and pear orchard fruit that is brought into balance by a flinty and vibrant finish with classic white pepper notes.
