Sitting above the fog on Mt. Veeder is Mayacamas - one of the oldest and most legendary producers in Napa Valley. This historical property has a long lineage of caretakers spanning more than 125 years and continues to consistently produce some of the longest-lived, most classically-styled Cabernet Sauvignons in Napa. The 2004 vintage was particularly strong for Cabernets grown at higher altitudes where the harvest normally occurs later when temperatures are less extreme. Although nearly 20 years old, the powerfully firm tannins suggest that this wine will continue to improve with time. Ripe raspberry and deep cherry aromas lead to a supple, velvety palate that has retained plenty of freshness along with flavors of black olive, sage, and leather.

Pairings:
Ribeye steak topped with a rosemary gorgonzola pan sauce
