Region: Chablis, Burgundy, France Vineyard: Pargues Grape(s): Chardonnay Winemaker: François Servin Drinks Best: Now - 5 Years
The region of Chablis in the northwestern corner of Burgundy is famed for its bright and vibrant take on the noble Chardonnay. Continually producing high quality grapes, despite what can be challenging growing conditions at times, growing these grapes on the much heralded Kimmeridgian marl soil amazingly creates Chardonnays unlike any other in the world. The Pargues vineyard from which the grapes were sourced for this Chablis was formerly classified as Premier Cru but wan’t being worked when reclassification occured following WWII. Bright floralnotes accompany flavors of green apple and tropical fruit that are backed up with crisp acidity and a chalky mineralitythat is classic Chablis.
