This winery is named after the stone walls, called Le Murger, that mark the boundaries of a vineyard. Sourced from Morgon, the most famous of the ten Crus, the granite-rich soil provides an ideal foundation for the Gamay grape to flourish. Typical of the region’s best wines, this expression is a bolder, denser version of Gamay with the structure to age — if you have the patience. That said, it also offers immediate enjoyment, bursting with aromas of black cherry, red plum, and a slatey, mineral backbone, finishing with fine tannins. A fantastic value for a wine of its pedigree.
