La Mesma was started in 2001 by the Rosina sisters - Paola, Francesca, and Anna - with the simple goal of making wine for family consumption. They eventually expanded their holdings to a total of 25 hectares, quickly emerging as one of the area’s leading voices for artisan Cortese. The sisters make a wide range of Gavi, including this beautiful example of sparkling Cortese. A unique wide based bottle displays this classically made single vintage spumante with lively bubbles and a gentle touch. The wine is delicate but generous showing rich lemon curd aromatics and tart green apple acidity.
