Javier Revert is a true revelation in the relatively unheralded Valencia region of Spain, a driven and motivated young winemaker making distinctly Spanish wines in the most traditional of manners. Harvesting from vineyards his grandfather planted in 1948, Javi is obsessively focused on expressing the terroir of the vineyard with exclusively local grape varieties. He wants the wine to tell the story of the land, and that story is focused, textural, mineral-driven white wines like the Micalet. A true field blend with modest alcohol levels, the fruit profile leans toward tangerine and stone fruit while finishing with a lightly chalked white pepper touch.
