Franck Besson 'Rosé Granit' Brut 2022

Franck is one of Beaujolais’ most innovative winemakers. He began working approximately 10 acres of high-elevation Gamay vines near Jullié, inherited from his father-in-law, and quickly recognized the potential of the terroir—despite its location outside the Cru designation. Organically farmed and hand-harvested, the vines are over 40 years old and planted on steep, south-facing slopes of pink granite. ‘Rosé Granit’ is made entirely from Gamay grapes, whole-cluster pressed with brief skin contact, then fermented in stainless steel. The wine undergoes traditional method vinification and ages for 12 months on wooden pupitres. The result is a fresh, lively sparkling wine with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, finishing dry and mineral-driven.
