The Fongoli farm is over 80 acres of vineyards, olive groves, and natural truffle-ground. When fourth-generation winemaker Angelo Fongoli took over operations in the early 2010s he decided to fully convert the farm to biodynamic practices with a focus on cultivating indigenous varietals and seeking quality grapes over quantity production. The cellar is kept traditional, following passed-down techniques, working only with native yeast, no clarifications or filtration, and only adding sulfur in tiny amounts when necessary. The ‘Rossofongoli’ is kept in stainless steel vats, ensuring plenty of fresh, bright fruit. A barnyard, earthy nose leads to dusty red raspberry and a rustic, lightly tannic finish.
