Domaine Tempier is one of the most legendary producers in France. The farm dates back to the 18th century and has been in the Tempier family since 1834. In 1936, Lulu Tempier married Lucien Peyraud and received the domain as a gift from Lulu’s father. Lucien established Bandol as its own controlled designation of origin in 1941 and the rest is history. Today, winemaker Daniel Ravier continues the traditions of Domaine Temiper while Lulu and Lucien’s children remain on the Board of Directors. Although Tempier is known for producing age-worthy rose and reds, this is their Bandol blanc that comes from cooler vineyard sites which allows the grapes to retain striking freshness. Aromas of grapefruit zest and wet stone lead to a richly textured palate of pear, lemon, and salty sea breeze with focused acidity and beautiful depth.
