Faillenc Sainte Marie is a small property located in the rocky terrain of Mont Alaric. Strong winds from the north and south, limestone soils, and an extremely dry climate create harsh conditions unsuitable for anything but olive trees and vines, and the Gibert family has mastered this red blend. This wine starts with an intriguing garrigue aroma, true to the terroir. Herbaceous and spicy flavors such as rosemary and thyme produce a rustic nose. On the palate it is smooth with a medium body that finishes with pretty tannin. Ripe fruit, olive tapenade, and balsamic flavors also come to mind when tasting, creating a unique expression of the region.
