Domaine de Piaugier is situated in and around the village of Sablet, just a galette’s throw north from Gigondas.  Here is where Jean-Marc Autran is fortunate enough to own a large number of small plots where he produces single village cuvées that truly express the region. The ‘Ténébi’, the winery’s original name when Jean-Marc’s great grandfather was winemaker, is a celebration of the grape Counoise. Often considered a blending grape, it is delightful vinified on its own. Its generous weight is balanced by vivacious raspberry and cassis fruit layered with white pepper spice and dried herbs.
