Denis Cheron acquired Domaine du Grand Montmirail after moving to the Southern Rhône in the 1960s from Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits where Pinot Noir is king.  There, his winemaker philosophy was born crafting wines that transparently reflect regional terroir through the expression of the grape without heavy-handed intervention in the cellar. Therefore he makes this cuvée without any oak influence to exhibit the purity of the fruit. This classic Southern Rhône blend boasts notes of blackberry, blueberry, allspice and licorice on its expressive nose. Round and seamless in texture, it finishes with a delightful spiced lift on the subtly tannic, persistent finish.
