Husband and wife team Jeremie and Claire Batard-Langelier are dedicated to producing wines that express Muscadet’s terroir while also introducing a new perspective of this classic region. The estate is nearly 60 acres planted mostly with Melon de Bourgogne and a small portion of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Chemical fertilizers were abandoned in the vineyard in 1995, and in 2014 they began the conversion to full on organic farming. ‘Didascalie’ spends about 10 months of aging on the lees which give the finished wine a bit more body and a round, lush texture. Lime zest aromas lead to a bright and vibrant palate loaded with notes of lemon and a saline, mineral-driven finish.
