Château de Cugat stands overlooking the small town of Blasimon within the appellation of Entre-Deux-Mers in southeastern Bordeaux. Although the Château has been around since the 1500’s, winemaker Benoit Meyer’s family bought the estate in 1926 with the intent of making red wines that exceeded expectations from this humble appellation. Although Entre-Deux-Mers is best known for dry white wines, their red blend is a testament to their success. Its ripe notes of plump black currant and cherry fruit are refined by subtle rustic notes of earth, tobacco and warm tannins on this versatile red.
