Alsace is a unique winemaking region in large part due to its historically perilous location on the French side of the German border. Over the years their culture, food and wine has been influenced from both sides of the border, and even influences from Switzerland, the birthplace of Francois Cattin, the first to settle in Alsace and begin winemaking for the forthcoming 11 generations. Now led by Jacques Cattin Jr., the winery produces classic wines of both Germanic and French influence. Their easy-drinking Crémant has bright aromas of Granny Smith apples and white flowers with Asian pear and gold apples on the palate balanced by zesty acidity and fine bubbles.

Pairings:
Brie, pickled red onion, and Granny Smith grilled cheese
