Castello di Verduno dates back to the early 16th century with the castle located in the northern reaches of Barolo. Verduno quietly became the place to be for farming world-class Nebbiolo grapes, but it wasn’t until the end of the 19th century that the Bianco family started producing stunning wine from indigenous grapes of the Piedmont from their own estate. Mario Andrion has been the winemaker for the estate since 2000, and strives to produce wines that are firmly traditional in style, though never rustic, that retain a rare elegance and purity. This Barbaresco has aromas of rose petals and sour cherry. On the palate, crunchy cranberry, blueberry skins, and hint of licorice come into play with bright acidity and punchy tannins.

Pairings:
