Although relative newcomers, having purchased their first plot in 1971 and releasing their first finished wine in 1978, Giovanni Neri, followed by his son Giacomo, already having a reputation of crafting amongst the top wines in the district year in and year out. Not hamstring by tradition, the Neri family has pushed modern innovation in the vineyards and in the winery crafting wines with impressive concentration yet maintaining remarkable elegance and expressiveness. The ‘white label’ Brunello is a great snapshot into the house style with plum, black cherry and red floral notes accented with dusty spices and just a hint of forest floor on its long finish featuring ripe tannins.
