A trip to the Bohigas estate is an adventure in and of itself. There are the typical wine tastings and cellar tours that you would expect, but there are also events such as hot air ballooning over the estate, gastronomy classes, and harvest festivals. Aside from the adventures, the wine is fabulous as they have had plenty of time to perfect their craft since the estate has been family owned since 1290. This Cava, made in the laborious Methode Champenoise process, has many of the hallmarks of fine Champagne at a fraction of the price. Medium-bodied with notes of brioche and citrus on the nose and a palate chock full of zesty lemon and lime paired to a lively effervesence to awaken your palate.
Pairings: Catalan style paella with shrimp, mussels, clams, squid and saffron
