Pioneers of the Washington wine scene, Rob Griffin and Deborah Barnard moved from Napa Valley to establish Barnard Griffin in 1983 with a rented cellar and truckload of fruit purchased on terms. Their Riesling is richly textured yet also lively and refreshing. Notes of orange blossom, white pepper, and apple accompany a mineral-driven finish. There is a kiss of sweetness with only .7% residual sugar.
