This expressive red from venerated Rioja producer Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España (C.V.N.E.) is crafted predominantly from Tempranillo, grown and hand-picked in the Rioja Alta sub-region. The house style is very traditional as C.V.N.E. was established in 1879 and is now in its fifth generation of winemakers. For this bottling however, the wine is aged in American oak for one year, lending a ‘New World’ rich and plush character to the finished wine. Bright, fresh red raspberry and cherry on the nose are complimented by the spice and balsamic notes from the oak on the finish. Overall the wine is fruit-forward and well-balanced.
