Region: Western Cape, South Africa Grape(s): 97% Chenin Blanc, 3% Sauvignon Blanc Winemaker: Thinus Krüger Drinks Best: Now - 1 Year
While Chenin Blanc has long been a workhorse grape varietal in South Africa, it is more recently garnering international attention for both its versatility and quality. Winemaker Thinus Krüger partnered with friend and importer Paschal Schildt to create the Radley & Finch wines. The pair wanted to showcase the fresh, approachable side of small production South African wines for us here in the United States, so they named this label after characters in a favorite American novel – To Kill a Mockingbird. This fresh, imminently quaffable white features yellow apple and melon on the nose and palate, with ripe fruit providing a delightful weight and a small touch of creaminess to the finish.
Pairings: Grilled grouper lightly dressed with lemon, olive oil, and fresh herbs
