Region: Alto Adige, Italy Grape(s): Pinot Grigio Winemaker: Alois and Clemens Lageder Drinks Best: Now - 3 Years
Under the guidance of Alois and Clemens Lageder, the fifth and sixth generation to run their family estate, the 150-year-old winery has become a leader of the quality revolution in Alto Adige through innovative techniques and a clarity of vision to return to sustainable farming practices. For their ‘Porer’ Pinot Grigio the Lageders press one part of the harvest immediately, another part is kept of the skins for 15 hours and the last part is kept in contact with the stems and skins for about a year. The result is a fascinatingand multifaceted Pinot Grigio that has a round texture with aromas and flavors or citrus, orchard fruit underscored by herbal and savory notes.
