Domaine Skouras is situated in the Nemea region of Peloponnese - the largest appellation for red wine in Greece. It’s also home to one of the oldest towns in Europe, Argos, dating back over 3000 years. This is the birthplace of winemaker George Skouras, as well as home to his estate. George got his start making wine out of his father’s garage and renting equipment, and he now owns vineyard sites across Nemea and other ancient yet fertile land in the Peloponnese. George has always been infatuated with the native grapes of the region, including Agiorgitiko which we see here. Plum and potpourri on the nose turns to silky purple fruit on a juicy palate marked by soft tannin.
Pairings: Lamb meatballs with lemon, cumin, coriander, and mint yogurt on the side
