This family winery, with roots dating back to the 18th century, is located in the in the Alto Piedmont, an area in northwest Italy north of the esteemed hills of Barolo and Barbaresco. Back then, Bernardo Vallana crafted wine that garnered international attention as some of the most esteemed wines from Piedmont - and Italy overall. The grapes come from Colline Novaresi, a growing area characterized by old vines and high altitudes. Made  from 100% Spanna, the local name for Nebbiolo, this wine shows a deep aroma of spices, full of ripe wild cherry and blackberry on the nose along with strawberry and a little grit on the finish.
