Since 1960 the Tezza family has harvested from their estate’s vineyards in the Valpantena - between Verona and the Lessina Mountains - in what many locals call ‘the valley of all of the gods.’  This crowd-pleasing red, a second label for the family’s eponymously-named wines, is light- to medium-bodied and easy-going, but it posesses a compelling mix of strawberry, raspberry and just a hint of smoky aromatics, along with an undercurrent of wild herbs. While many base-level Valpolicellas try too hard to drink like a more full-bodied Ripasso, this one is decidedly comfortable being a fresh red that’s low in alcohol and super food-friendly.
