Domaine de Piaugier is situated in and around the village of Sablet, just a galet’s throw north from Gigondas. Although the village is named after the sandy soil that dominates the land, Jean-Marc is fortunate enough to own a large number of small plots with a wide variety of soil types. These differing terroirs allow the various grape varieties to thrive and ultimately come together harmoniously in Jean-Marc’s winery with this multifaceted Côtes du Rhône blend. Bright strawberry, cherry, and raspberry along with a touch of violet on the nose leads to a deft blend of ripe fruit, savory herbs, and a gentle spice on the palate.
