Jean-Claude Mas has always had a passion for wine – even when he was just 3 years old and watching his grandfather in the cellar. As he traveled the world, he noted a need for clean and pure classic French varietal wines made with a sense of place at a price everyone could afford. Focusing on the Languedoc, he’s turned to his fellow vignerons to find unique vineyard sites throughout the region and to grow a ‘New Languedoc’ movement concentrated on organic practices and quality in the bottle. For his Malbec, he sources from the foothills of the French Pyrénées. The terroir gives the wine an edge of freshness and a more medium body, showcasing blue fruit and smoky undertones.
