Alex Foillard is the prodigious son of ‘Gang of Four’ Morgon producer Jean Foillard, and Gamay runs in his blood. After studying viticulture and enology abroad, he returned home to Beaujolais and purchased his own vineyards. He began farming them organically and released his first vintage in 2016. This wine is from his small vineyard in Brouilly and is a very different terroir from his father’s vineyard holdings. Deep and powerful, this is a more structured and spicy expression of Gamay with aromas of dried violets and blueberry skins. The palate is juicy with strong acidity and notes of tart cherry and dusty earth - with a very limited quantity produced, you do not want to miss out!
