Liz's Notes:

Who decided it was a good idea to host Thanksgiving with a 3 week old? No time to think...I'm sticking with the easy choice here for my Turkey day pairing - something you can never go wrong with, Grüner Veltliner. One of the best wines to match virtually everything on the table, from apps, to potatoes, to veggies, to the big bird itself, Grüner Veltliner is one of the most versatile white grape varietals out there. Hirsch's from the Kamptal is a great example of a more textured style, perfect for the fall weather.  It is loaded with those hallmark white pepper an mineral notes that create a mouthwatering experience, and the ripe apple and orchard fruit match the season. This is a wine to keep on hand throughout these next few, chillier months ahead.

What's Cooking?

Chicken cutlets with a caper pan sauce

What do I like to drink?

My go-to region is usually Italy because I am typically cooking up something Italian in my kitchen, it's in my blood. But, Austrian wines have quickly become my standby. After two separate wine trips to the region, I've found that the people, food, and atmosphere in Austria is hard to beat, and can only be matched by the stunningly versatile and delicious wines they produce. Besides those regions, natural and funky are my jam - especially if I can put a light chill on it and enjoy with just some charcuterie and cheese.
